少しでも上位に行きたい選手たちにとっては、オリンピックの翌年っていうのは狙い目なんです。強豪選手はちょっと休んでいたり引退してしまったりで、だいぶレベルが落ちますからね。
その代わり、若い（みんな若いですけど）選手がひしめいて、ヨーイドンで次のオリンピックを目指していきます。
強豪国では、これから次から次へと強い選手が出てきます。その点、日本は層が薄いので、代表の数人がケガでもしたらそれで終わりです。ま、東京オリンピックさえ良ければいいのならいいんですけど…

The player who want to be higher rank a little more than now are having chance after a year of the Olympic games. Because many excellent player are resting or already retire. So the level of game became considerably low.
Instead many young player (though all is young) are crowding any country, and they have been heading to next Olympic games.
In some excellence country, talented player will appear one after another.  In that respect, Japan is poor. If a few representative player got injured, it will all over.
Well, I don't care if they are thinking only Tokyo.
