ヨーロッパ的美的基準の中でアジア系の私たちが他に勝るには What shall we, Asian do to surpass other among European aesthetic standards ?

今年のTokyo2020の試合会場や練習会場で各国の選手たちを間近で見ることができました。そして、あらためて、それぞれの国の選手の体形の違いを感じました。

一言で表すと、日本や中国などのアジア系の人たちは華奢、ロシアやブルガリアなどのヨーロッパ系の人たちはごつい、エジプトなどのアフリカ系の人たちはマッチョ。女性よりも男性の方が違いが顕著なので、男性アスリートで見比べてみると分かりやすいでしょう。

もちろん体形は個人差が大きいので、アジア系のマッチョもいれば、ヨーロッパ系の華奢な人もいます。

そういう中で、オリンピックには新体操に向いている人たちが集まっているので、どの国も似たような美しい体形の選手が揃っています。しかし、それでも、やっぱり人種による傾向はあるので、それが成績にも影響しているかもしれません。

アジア系の私たちが、ヨーロッパ基準の美的価値観の中で美しく見えるためにはどうしたらよいか、次回考えてみたいと思います。

I saw athletes from various country up closes at competition venue and training venue of Tokyo 2020. And I felt again that the body shape is different depending on each country.

Put simply, Asians are delicate, Europeans are tough, Africans are macho.  You can see it on male athletes because the difference is remarkable on male more than female. 

Of course the individual difference is bigger. So, there also is a macho Asian or a delicate European.

Even so, at Olympic games, similar body shape persons were gathering because they are selected talented persons. But they were also different on basically. It might be make influence to the result. 

What do we, Asian have to do to look beautiful in the European standards ? I will think about it next time.
